The mission of BAN Euskadi is to bring together entrepreneurs and potential investors from the private sector in an organised manner, and base don a specific methodology.
A ‘Business Angel’ is a private investor with successful experience as an entrepreneur or manager who is willing to take management responsibilities, contribute know-how and collaborate through its network of contacts.
This initiative is promoted by ADEGI, CEBEK and SEA and supported by the SPRI.
The 2006-2009 Business Competitiveness and Social Innovation Plan implemented by the Basque Government includes a commitment to promote the creation of businesses, encourage an enterprising spirit and more specifically, to arrange meetings between investors and entrepreneurs in order to favour the creation of spin-offs and establish new channels of support and finance, principally for the initial stages: seeding and launch. The BUSINESS ANGELS network provides the instruments for channelling investors towards innovative projects with excellent growth prospects.
Business Angels finance initiatives aimed at establishing new business ventures (Seed capital), companies that are in the process of starting up their business activities (Start up capital) or companies undergoing a phase of expansion (Expansion capital). In addition to finance, the investors may contribute know-how, experience and good management practices to new initiatives.
BAN EUSKADI is also a service that is offered by the three business organisations to its members (Companies and associations) and is available in all three regions (to both entrepreneurs and investors). Promotion and diffusion activities are carried out in the form of conferences or seminars, and advisory and support services are established for the BUSINESS ANGELS and entrepreneurs to help them identify business projects.
