1893. Creation of the Liga Vizcaína de Productores (League of Manufacturers of Biscay).
 
1896. Constitution of the Círculo Minero de Bilbao (Bilbao Mining Circle).
 
1898. A group of companies from the metallurgical and construction sectors, members of the Liga Vizcaína de Productores, promoted the creation of the Centro Industrial de Vizcaya –CIV (Industrial Centre of Biscay).
 
1899. Constitution of the Centro Industrial de Vizcaya, "Founded for the purpose of defending the productive and economic interests of Biscay, acting as a lobby to bring pressure to bear on public powers".
 
1900. Creation of the Asociación de Navieros (Shipbuilders Association), the iron and metal guild, and the Patronatos de la Construction (Construction Industry Boards).
 
1903. Constitution of the Asociación de Patronos Mineros (Association of Mining Employers).
 
1910. Creation of the Asociación de Cerrajeros (Locksmiths Association).
 
1911-12. Social tensions. Failure in the attempt to create a federation of employer associations.
 
1914. Constitution of the Asociación de Patronos Navieros (Shipbuilding Employers Association).
 
1917. Creation of the Asociación de Artes Gráficas (Printing Association) and of the Asociación de Bancos y Banqueros del Norte de España (Association of Banks and Bankers from Northern Spain).
 
1920. The Centro Industrial and its member guilds include 400 companies which employ some 30,000 workers.
 
1932. Merging of the services of the Centro Industrial de Vizcaya and the Liga Vizcaína de Productores.
 
1934. The Centro Industrial de Vicaya and Liga Vizcaína de Productores join forces to form the Federación de entidades Industriales y económicas de Vizcaya (Federation of Industrial and Economic Entities of Biscay).
 
1939-77. The years of the Franco regime led to a halt in the operations of the CIV. Its work was restricted to offering advisory services to companies.
 
1977. Creation of the Confederación General de Empresarios de Vizcaya (CEGEV) (Confederation of Enterprises of Biscay).
 
1981. Constitution of the Centro Empresarial de Vizcaya (CEV) (Business Centre of Biscay).
 
1984. Merging of the CGEVand CEV and creation of the Centro Industrial y Mercantíl de Vizcaya (CIMV) (Industrial and Mercantile Centre of Biscay).
 
1999. Change in the name of Centro Industrial y Mercantíl de Vizcaya (CIMV) to that of Confederación Empresarial de Bizkaia - Bizkaiko Enpresarien Konfederazioa (CEBEK).
